If You Drink Both, Chill ‘Em Together In A Dual Beer Wine Refrigerator
No one who enjoys beer really cares for it warm. Sure there are some types ingested at room temperature throughout the world but experience dictates this developed due to a lack of refrigerating. Wines, particularly, have been stored in sunken cellars attempting to reduce the drinking temperature while the geography does make for a near-to-perfect location for long-term storage.
The purpose refrigerating both your wine and beer is to keep the optimum temperature allowing for better taste at consumption. If you want to maintain consistency in quality of taste for both beverages, chilling at recommended temperatures is necessary.
Although many wines taste better at cooler temperatures, the recommended storage temperature is 55 degrees Fahrenheit or 13 degrees Celsius. Storing at this temperature will provide a consistency of great taste for most dinner wines. But, if you want to store it for a long time, reducing the temperature will help maintain the quality. A good reason for electing to store wine and beer in other than the kitchen fridge is the constant opening and closing of a kitchen refrigerator would disturb the wine, particularly. A separate beverage storage unit may play an important role for your beverage storage as well as any home entertaining you might plan.
Now, if you are a connoisseur of both wine and beer you might want to consider a unit to store both. There are many from which to choose based on both storage and chilling requirements.
Another consideration when examining the benefits from buying a single unit to house both wine and beer should be your living space requirements. Sure, it would be ideal to store each product in separate facilities, but this may not prove a practical choice. Therefore, selecting one unit leads to make serious considerations about the features you want.
If your main consideration is entertaining family and friends, consider selecting a rugged, abuse-friendly unit that will handle the wear and tear from frequent visits. Many of these are commonly referred to as “party” fridges.
These units are available in both single and dual zone digital temperature control. The greater amount of specific features will dictate the asking price. And, there are units designed for specific geographic locations throughout the home such as under-the-counter, on the porch or patio or, perhaps, in the garage or cellar.
Things to consider before purchase:
* Make sure the unit has two independent temperature controls and specific storage areas.
* An average size capacity (5.0 cubic feet) should provide storage approximately 30 wine bottles and up to 60 12-ounce beer cans ( or possibly soda)
* Make sure each temperature zone has its own digital thermostat with individual LED readouts
* The unit should employ a frost-free, fan-forced cooling system with an automatic defrost feature
* Other important features may include an illumination system using cool blue lighting opposed to incandescent light bulbs that emit too much heat.
* Look for a design theme that fits not only your home décor, but your budget as well.
